Beatrice Duckitt, a young entrepreneur, has transformed her workplace into a thriving business, The Beehive, offering a sanctuary for self-care in Barton upon Humber. The 24-year-old hairdresser took over the historic Old Dispatch Building, once a site for loading rope onto barges, and revitalized it with the help of her brother, partner, and friends and family. The renovation included tearing down walls, replumbing, rewiring, plastering, and painting, resulting in a spa, hot tub, sauna, and hair salon with a focus on relaxation and indulgence. Beatrice aims to expand The Beehive into a wellbeing spa, catering to a growing market for wellness and self-care treatments. She offers refillable products to provide luxury services at affordable prices, ensuring accessibility for those who may not be able to afford daily luxury treatments. The Beehive now features eight treatment rooms, a large double room for couples' massages, and a salon, and is open to clients taking bookings.
